8. Inspirational Leader in Customer Experience Award

The modern, transformative customer can be a brand assassin or a King-maker. Therefore, enhancing the customer’s experience has become pivatol to marketing.

More and more consumer data is now available to brands – often in near real time – informing them of how their customers’ are thinking and feeling, what they are doing and saying about the brand and how they’re responding to the brands’ messages.

Yet, companies are still slow to take advantage of this technology-led change.

Why? Because, to make a company not just customer-focused, but customer-obsessed often involves a fundamental re-think in the way it functions; the way its departments work with each other, developing smarter ways of collating, dashboarding and presenting data to make it immediately actionable. However, the better businesses are doing just that, and in those businesses, the leadership often comes from the marketing team.

This category recognizes the contribution a marketer has made to inspiring, encouraging and effecting change in her business, such that customer-obsession has become possible, successful and is showing demonstrable results.

9. Branded Entertainment Award

Your work creates change. Your work creates true engagement. Your work is more than a simple TVC or over-sized billboard. It has meaning, it has depth, and most of all, it has been enjoyed by the consumers it has reached.

We call it Branded Entertainment, and we want to recognise the women globally who have used marketing in an original manner that moved the needle for their brand. You may have delighted people, you may have fascinated them, but every entry should be able to demonstrate that people have been truly engaged with your brand — that is the power of Branded Entertainment.

Previous winners include Amanda Turnbull, VP for Discovery in the Middle East, who used a rolling series of branded events to engage Arabic audiences around TV stations, and our 2017 winner Molicoutlised a series of branded short films in a series called HUMANITY to engage with their audience around the meaning and power of feminine values.
