With a foundation as a pharmacologist and health economist, Claire founded a specialist medical access consultancy called WG Group in 1996. In 2010, WG Group was bought by WPP, enabling Claire to successfully establish the WG Group in the US. In 2016 she was promoted to International CEO, WPP Health Practice and is now leading some of WPP’s flagship health brands.
Claire is also is a member of WPP STELLA and a supporter of Women in Creative Healthcare, a global programme to promote women in creative fields. She’s an executive director for InHer Space, a platform for women challenged by key life transitions – such as divorce, bereavement, menopause and eating disorders. Claire has previously worked as a Non-Executive Director for In Med, a US charity to create pathways for disadvantaged families. She is a long-time supporter of the Bigger Bounce aimed at women suffering from Breast Cancer and has helped to promote the Advanced Breast Cancer Global Charter and Alliance, by calling for better care for woman around the world suffering from the disease. She installed one of the first full time in-house councillors to support her London agency teams and has promoted investment in workplace wellness throughout her network. More recently, she led a team to support and promote the work of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Medical practitioner, health economist, entrepreneur and business leader, Claire is passionate about using communications to promote better access to healthcare and is a regular industry commentator across publications including CNBC, Euro News, Adweek, PR Week, MM&M and The Drum. She is also the inaugural winner of Women in Marketing’s “Best Marketing Leader in Creating Change in Health and Wellness” award.
