The contemporary complexities and pace of change in our world require rapid development of new knowledge, innovative marketing approaches, and stellar training of versatile and empathetic marketers.
Dr.Samantha N.N.Cross, FW.Olin Distinguished Chair of Global Business, Babson College USA
Onilude shared that the 2024 awards paid homage to the industry’s educators; namely marketing scientists. A focus reflected by this year’s awards co-hosts, Dr Eva Kipnis, Professor of Marketing at the University of Bradford School of Management, and Dr Samantha N.N.Cross, FW.Olin Distinguished Chair of Global Business, Babson College in the US.
“On behalf of Women in Marketing CIC we send deep gratitude to all our partners and supporters,” added Onilude.
Dr. Sal Jarvis, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Education at the University of Westminster, who opened the awards which were held at the University, paid tribute to the work of Women in Marketing. She said: “The Women in Marketing awards are an important recognition of the impact of women, and of male allies, in this work worldwide.”
Women in Marketing is a transformational force that consolidates, celebrates and elevates the rich talent, creative spirit, and impact of female marketers worldwide.
Dr. Eva Kipnis, Professor in Marketing School of Management University of Bradford
Jarvis continued: “At the University of Westminster, we are delighted to be hosting these important awards. Our University priorities of inclusion, sustainability and wellbeing mean that we are committed to breaking down the barriers to success everywhere. We are embedding the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into our teaching and are particularly proud of our contribution to SDG 5, Gender Equality.”
Dr. Eva Kipnis, Professor in Marketing School of Management University of Bradford, and co-presenter of the 2024 Women in Marketing Awards, explained: “History shows many women at the forefront of innovation and social progress, although their pioneering contributions and legacies in the advancement of our world are often unsung. In this context, Women in Marketing is a transformational force that consolidates, celebrates and elevates the rich talent, creative spirit, and impact of female marketers worldwide.”
Her fellow co-presenter, Dr.Samantha N.N.Cross, FW.Olin Distinguished Chair of Global Business, Babson College in the US, added: “The contemporary complexities and pace of change in our world require rapid development of new knowledge, innovative marketing approaches, and stellar training of versatile and empathetic marketers. We champion this premise in our work as marketing academics, and our presence as co-hosts in the University of Westminster is a powerful testament to WIM’s commitment to promoting the mutually enriching collaborations between different facets of our discipline.”
Women in Marketing’s commitment to celebrating female leadership and innovation extends beyond an individual awards cycle. The organisation champions changemakers all year round.
Earlier this year Onilude urged the industry to look outwards to be more creative. She explained: “Marketing is in perpetual crisis mode. We need to look upwards and outwards and recognise the role of the marketing industry and the people making the work in driving business forward.” To mark the 20th anniversary since the creation of the first WIM event, Onilude also paid tribute to the industry leaders who helped the organisation to thrive.
Creativebrief is proud to be the media partner of the Women in Marketing Awards.
