The Global Women in Marketing Awards 2024

 

The 2024 Global Women in Marketing Awards event will take place in-person in Central London on the 20th of November 2024

The WIM Global theme for 2024 is the year of The Exemplar, 2024 marks the twenty year anniversary since the creation of the first Women in Marketing event to celebrate International Women’s Day, this evolved to the launch of the awards in 2010, in its fourteenth year we will celebrate the “exemplary” work of those influencing and impacting the evolving global landscape of marketing.

As well as the awards announcements, there will be a canapes and drinks reception on arrival and post the awards presentation. This year we pay homage to the “educators (Marketing Scientist) with joint Professors in Marketing co-hosting Dr.Eva Kipnis, Professor of Marketing at the University of Bradford School of Management and Dr.Samantha N.N.Cross, FW.Olin Distinguished Chair of Global Business, Babson College(USA)

WiM Awards 2024 Host: Dr. Eva Kipnis, Professor of Marketing at the University of Bradford School of Management

Eva Kipnis is a Professor of Marketing at University of Bradford School of Management. She holds a PhD in Marketing from University of Durham, for which she received a Best Thesis Award, and a MSc in International Marketing. In her research, Eva examines culture-informed consumer behavior and the social impact of cultural meanings conveyed by brands, Diversity and Inclusion Engaged Marketing in multicultural marketplaces, Transformative Consumer Research and the development and deployment of socially-inclusive technologies in product and service innovations.

Eva’s work regularly features in recognized journals, such as the Journal of Service Research, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Public Policy and Marketing, Marketing Theory, Consumption, Markets & Culture, Journal of Macro marketing, edited collections and books and international conferences. The social impact of this research has been recognized by the 2020 Women in Marketing Award in Marketing Scientist category which Eva received with an international team of collaborators forming a Multicultural Marketplaces research network she co-founded.

Eva led the development of several teaching and training programmers, including international schools for doctoral and early career researchers and innovative modules and sessions for undergraduate, Masters and MBA and DBA students, such as Global Branding and Marketing, Marketing and Social Inclusion and Digital Branding, Marketing and Strategy. She also serves on the advisory committee for the Transformative Consumer Research movement.

 

 

WiM Awards 2024 Host: Dr.Samantha N.N .Cross, Assoc Professor Marketing, FW Olin Distinguished Chair of Global Business, Babson College

Dr. Samantha N. N. Cross is an Associate Professor of Marketing and the F.W. Olin Distinguished Chair of Global Business at Babson College. She incorporates innovative multi-method approaches in her research, which examines cultural and sensory influences, and societal forces on consumption, decision making and innovation. She is particularly interested in how diverse identities, perspectives, beliefs and abilities co-exist in consumers, households and the marketplace.

Her work has been accepted for publication in top marketing journals and she has received several awards for her research. Her global research network received the inaugural Women in Marketing (WiM) Scientist Award. She has served on several boards and committees in her field, including the Transformative Consumer Research (TCR) Advisory Committee, the Board for the Association for Consumer Research (ACR), the Academic Council of the American Marketing Association (AMA), and the committee for the AMA-EBSCO-RRBM Annual Award for Responsible Research in Marketing.

Dr. Cross was an issue editor on Racism and Discrimination in the Marketplace for the Journal of the Association for Consumer Research and co-chaired the 2024 Winter AMA Academic Conference. She serves on a number of editorial review boards, has been an invited faculty fellow/mentor at doctoral symposiums and workshops, and is the recipient of the AMA Foundation’s 2024 Williams-Qualls-Spratlen Multicultural Mentoring Award of Excellence. Dr. Cross received her Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of California, Irvine, her M.B.A. in International Business from DePaul University, and a B.Sc. in Management Studies from The University of The West Indies.
